Your 12-Palace Destiny Chart

Zi Wei Dou Shu — also called Purple Star Astrology — is a Chinese metaphysics system that maps your destiny into 12 palaces, each governing a life area (wealth, career, relationship, health, family, etc.). 14 major stars and 30+ auxiliary stars are placed across those palaces based on your birth date and hour, creating a personal chart that describes your patterns, opportunities, and timing.

BaZi reads your destiny through the Five Elements balance of your Four Pillars. Zi Wei reads it through the 12-palace structure and star placements. They're complementary, not competing. BaZi tells you your elemental code; Zi Wei tells you your life map. Combined readings give the deepest picture.

Star placement is calculated from your lunar month and day, plus the Chinese hour branch of birth. Even if you only know your Gregorian date, our calculator converts to lunar automatically. If your birth hour is unknown, we use a noon-hour default — the chart will be less precise but still readable.

BaZi applies True Solar Time (an astronomical correction for longitude + Equation of Time). Zi Wei uses local clock time — which is the dominant Zi Wei convention. Both are correct within their respective traditions. A person born at 07:32 in Kuala Lumpur might show 卯 hour on their BaZi chart and 辰 hour on their Zi Wei chart — that's normal, not a bug.

Yes. BaZiMap uses a fixed Zi Wei Dou Shu calculation standard and checks the chart logic against verified reference cases before release. The free and paid versions use the same chart calculation. The paid version only adds deeper interpretation, timing analysis, and PDF download.

If you were born in a leap month, tick the "Leap month" checkbox when you select the Lunar calendar option. We apply the standard leap-month handling, which splits the leap month at mid-month (first half attributed to the prior month, second half to the next) — the most widely accepted convention.

The premium report — full 12-palace deep reading, wealth timing, 10-year luck cycle (大限), 2026 yearly forecast (流年), and downloadable PDF — is in active development.
